Due to its closeness to the metropolitan area (Puntarenas an Jacó downtown are 115 km away, or 1 ½ hours), this zone is usually visited by national tourists, that is why the entertainment and fun are so important, compared to other beach zones. It is precisely because of the demand that there is a great amount and categories of lodging options, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, etc. It is perhaps the beach zone with the greatest commercial movement in the country.
