HORSEBACK RIDING

Costa Rica
Adventure
Description:

Location: Manuel Antonio, Quepos.

How to get there: From San Jose When you reach the Jaco exit don´t turn but continue driving straight on the same road, South towards Parrita and then Quepos. As you arrive downtown Quepos you will cross a bridge and turn left immediatly. You will pass “EL Gran Escape Restaurant” (Highly recommended!) and some shops on your left . Keep driving one block and look for the sign to Manuel Antonio on your left. Turn left and continue driving through this road that will lead you up to a hill. As you start to descend the hill you will see the signs to the different hotels and you will be getting closer to the main beach and Manuel Antonio National Park.

Duration: 5 hours approximately

Facilities: Transportation from Manuel Antonio hotels, bilingual guides and naturalists, all equipment needed, a hot lunch or dinner, snacks and refreshments.

Activities: The tour will be realized on ground, hills, trails, river and forests during 1 hours and a half. At the top of a mountain, you will leave your horse to walk by a footpath that goes to a waterfall, and then at the waterfall you can relax for 45minutes and some snacks will be offered (Cookies, fruit juice, fruits, water). Of return, and to close the circuit, we will cover beautiful sceneries ending where we began and covering five minutes in car  to go to the Don Gilberto´s restaurant to eat a Costa Rican meal. It is a walk where you will enjoy the scenery and silence of the mountain, and, accompanied by don Gilberto it will be easy to learn about medicinal plants and exotic grasses.

We recommend: Comfortable clothes and possibly long pants (or bring a towel) while horseback riding, yet bring your bathing suit, bug repellant, sunscreen, camera, hat, towel, and maybe an extra change of clothes to wear after swimming and riding in the Tocori river and waterfalls.
